Police Attack on Tent University in Santa Cruz
Andrew A. Anissi
Tent University was established as a response to the unfortunately materialistic and unenlightened education offered at the University of California at Santa Cruz. The faculty and students of Tent University hold classes and workshops in an open field and in tents, with a devotion to the ideals of liberty, solidarity, community, and creativity.
Sounds great, right?
Well the police were terrified at the level of independent thought going on, and decided to invade Tent University, and then to rip up the tents and forcibly remove attendees from the site, with a complete disregard for the First Amendment right to assembly. See the film of the police attack here.
